LUXE 6200m - MODULAR POS PAYMENT DEVICE

DESIGN BRIEF - Tasked with designing a Modular All-in-one Payment Device for the EQUINOX's new L-Series of payment solutions, components such as battery packs, printer/paper rolls must be easily removed or attached based on the needs of the business.  Size volume of internal components were provided, I was required to deliver compelling industrial designs and smart plastic parts creations for production.

CHALLENGES - Working directly with company CEO to re-think payment terminals, my challenge was to come up with a simple and clean solution loaded with all the required features but within the given size constraints. The overall size had to be no bigger than the size of a smart phone.  Modular add-ons, such as the battery and circular shaped printer roll, did not fit well with the sharp and crisp lines of the front keypad and screen, so some finesse and tweaks were required to achieve a cohesive look.

 

RESULTS - A smart, compact and versatile payment device, with attachable power modules (mobile battery, mobile battery+printer, fixed battery, fixed battery+printer) that allows businesses to confirgure the device to their needs.
